Ahmedabad: The Gujarat government on Friday showed an ongoing strike called 2,000 resident doctors from six government medical colleges as “illegal”, and threatened to beg for an epidemic disease if they did not return to duty.
Doctors who were nervous, most of them recently completed their postgraduate courses, owned by a medical college managed by the government from Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Letters, Rajkot, Bhavnagar and Jamnagar.
At least 2,000 resident doctors this hospital has broken down since Wednesday night, especially for the problem of the period of bond services and the 7th payment commission.
In Gujarat, government college medical students needed to sign bonds, whose mandates that they serve for a year in rural areas after completing their studies.
Doctors can solve bonds by paying Rs 40 Lakh.
In April this year, when the Covid-19 case increased, the state government has announced that one day the Covid-19 task will be considered equivalent to two days of bond tasks.
Thus, six months in the Covid-19 ward will be considered a year of bonding period.
However, in July, when the Covid-19 case dropped significantly, the new notification was released to state that the ratio was restored to 1: 1 instead of 1: 2 before, the Junior Doctor Association said in a statement.
Now, resident doctors demanded the old formula 1: 2 today restored, and seek a salary in accordance with the 7th payment commission.
Instead of remote rural areas, nervous doctors also want the government to mobilize them in their “Maternal Institute” during the period of the bond.
However, Deputy Minister Gujarat Nitin Patel, who handled a health portfolio, rejected their demands and asked the resident doctor to return to their duties.
“Very few Covid-19 cases were detected today, and a large number of doctors needed in rural areas.
We have issued orders who ask doctors to join their respective duties in rural areas.
It is mandatory for them to serve.
The village is in accordance with Bond conditions.
If they do not want to serve in the villages, they must deposit RS 40 Lakh, “Patel said in a statement.
“This strike is illegal and is intended to provide undue pressure on the government.
They hold patients for ransom.
We will not tolerate this.
We will take action against the doctor who is anxious in the epidemic law if they do not return to their duties.
If They did not return to their assignments after lifting their attacks, “said Deputy Chairperson of the Minister added.
