Large Noida: A 65-year-old doctor was shot dead by unknown strikers in Nagla Nainsukh Village in Greater Noida on Tuesday night.
Initial investigations revealed old hostility as an excuse behind the murder.
Police said Dr.
Nannu Singh, a resident of the Dadri region, was on the field when he was attacked.
“We received a call around 4:30 that a man lay with bullet wounds in the field.
A team was sent to the place and the man was taken to the hospital, where he was declared to die on arrival,” said a police station officer Dadri.
The body, he said, has been sent for autopsy and investigations have begun.
“Family members have pointed to old hostilities between families in the village.
We examine cross information and scan the CCTV footage area to ensure how the murder occurred,” the officer added.
Dr.
Singh’s relatives said they heard gunshots and ran towards the field.
“He lay there, flowing blood.
It seems that the attackers came on a bicycle and fled after shooting him.
We called the police,” said a family member.
