Documentary Doordarshan won award

New Delhi: Doordarshan has brought cheers for India with a documentary on sign language for pocketing the UNESCO award on the function held online in Kuala Lumpur.
‘Telukeely leads the way’, produced by Doordarshan, has won awards under the initiative of ‘shared for peace’ by UNESCO.
Pradeep Agnihotri, Doordarshan executive program in New Delhi which directed documentaries in 2019, told TII, “People with special needs are dedicated and focused on their approach.

Footage from the award-winning documentary ‘Tohning led the way’ talking about Anshul’s journey.
His parents did not know their special child until he was four months old.
Anshul studied at an ordinary school to class VI before parents realized that he had special needs.
Anshul was then taken to a special school.
In 2019, UNESCO, in collaboration with the Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union (Abu), has called for inspirational stories about people and people who overcome the differences from 33 countries on five continents.
This competition is open across radio platforms, TV and digital.
Because of the pandemic, the official announcement of the award was postponed two years.
