Kolkata: Changes in blood pressure parameters for the start of treatment, announced by WHO earlier this week, will force them to be more careful about prescribing drugs, the doctor said.
Because the threshold for introducing drugs has been withdrawn from what medical in India now sticks to, the decision about prescription drugs can now be more conservative, said the doctor and expert, adding that it still has to be the case-to-case base than the finger rigid.
WHO has set 130 as the upper limit for the start of treatment for those who have risk factors or cardiovascular diseases and 140/90 for others.
According to the Guidelines for the Indian Ministry of Health, the reading of 130-139 / 80-89 pressure will be recommended after a year and faster in the case of those who have a history of cardiovascular disease.
The bar has been established higher in India by the Ministry of Health which has now been lowered by WHO guidelines, according to Surkar Cardiac Surgeon.
“The bar has been lowered a little for the treatment and treatment that is not great.
But in addition, medical officers need to be careful about the drugs they receptibly.
Now there is a greater confusion about which drugs prescribe than when the start of treatment,” said Sarkar.
He added that it was important to formulate the first, second and third line for blood pressure patients depending on reading and co-morbidity.
“Many have side effects that can be harmful to those who suffer from heart disease, diabetes or chronic kidney disease,” he added.
WHO guidelines also suggest a combination of two drugs, not one, even if the single pill is a combined drug.
Suggestions have been attended by most doctors, said RN Tagore International Institute of Cardiac Sciences Intensivist Sauren Panja.
“This leads to synergistic effects, helping to reduce the side effects of one drug and medicines usually complement each other,” he said.
But the threshold number recommended by who is not much different from Indian guidelines, Panja said.
“Most medical officers do not prescribe medicine for healthy individuals to read over them touching 140, which has now been recommended.
They are between 130 and 139 are drugs prescribed if they suffer from diabetes, have heart or kidney disease.
But there may be a need to repeat This is for dynamic blood pressure and drugs can have a bad impact on those who have crossed the threshold, “Panja said.
He added that there are cases where individuals with slightly high systolic (top level) have been prescribed by drugs according to Indian guidelines, which lead to dizziness attacks, nausea or even takhindress attacks.
Although healthy individuals do not need to treat up to 140, they need changes in lifestyle, regular exercise and a limited diet to ensure they do not cross the threshold, said Consultant Arinda Biswas.
