Beijing: Many countries from China to Indonesia and Brazil are very dependent on the Chinese vaccine to invest their people against Covid-19, but there are growing worries about whether they provide sufficient protection against the Delta variant, first identified in India.
Below are the views of Chinese health experts about the effectiveness of vaccines planted at home against Delta, which became the dominant variant of the global, and the prevention of virus prevention of China.
Does the Chinese vaccine work against Delta? China has not provided the effectiveness of vaccines against variants based on large-scale data in clinical trials or real world use, or offering detailed information from laboratory tests, but Chinese experts urge people to be invested as soon as possible.

Feng does not provide details including the name of two vaccines.
Shots can still offer protection, because no one is vaccinated in the South Guangdong Province, where the first case of the Delta variant is found, developing severe symptoms.
All severe cases come from people who are not vaccinated.
Jin Dong-yan, a virology at Hong Kong University, said Feng’s comments were not enough to support the claim that the Chinese vaccine was effective against severe cases, because more data needed.
Indonesia, who has reported a record of daily cases recently due to a surge in Delta variant, saw hundreds of medical workers infected by Covid-19 despite being vaccinated with Sinovac shots, officials said earlier this month.
However, it is not clear, if Indonesian medical workers are infected by the Delta variant.
How do they compare with Western shots? A study by British public health (PHE) found in May the Pfizer-Bontech vaccine was 88% effective against symptomatic disease from Delta two weeks after the second dose.
That was compared with the effectiveness of 93% against the Alfa variant, first identified in the UK.

How severe Guangdong outbreaks? Guangdong, China’s main manufacturing and export center, became a group of the largest Delta cases in the country since reporting Delta variant infections that were transmitted locally in May.
