KOLLAM: A woman who started legal action on domestic abuse of her husband had to face even greater violence when the last tried to kill him by stabbing with a knife.
The incident occurred in Malakayal below the limit of the Parvur police station in Kollam District on Wednesday morning.
Sheeba from M S Bhavan, Malakayal, was injured.
Police Parvur had arrested her husband Vijayakumar, 42, from Kurumandal near Paravur on charges of murder experiments.
He was produced in front of the court on Thursday and returned in the custody of the judiciary.
According to police, Sheeba, who works in a private company, lives apart from her husband for the past six months due to domestic violence.
He even filed a petition before the court accused Vijayakumar from domestic abuse.
He is a carpenter by the profession.
Even though her husband had made several reconciliation efforts, Sheeba refused his request at any time.
On Wednesday, Vijayakumar went and attacked him as he was on his way to work on his scooter.
When he reached about 500 meters from his house, Vijayakumar, who was waiting for him, blocking his way and attacking him.
Sheeba told police officials that Vijayakumar, pointed his knife to his chest, but he blocked him using his left hand and had a serious injury under the elbow.
He then took out the knife and stabbed him again on his knee before escaping from the place.
Vijayakumar was immediately arrested by a police team led by Parvur Station House Officer Inspector A Nizar.
