Mumbai: BCCI on Saturday announced that starting September 21, the domestic season 2021-22 for men and women will begin after undergoing forced hiatus in the 2020-21 season because Covid-19.
The season will begin with the league one senior senior woman, followed by a senior women’s challenger trophy, Mushtaq Ali T20 for men, trophy Ranji (who was not played last season), and concluded with Vijay Hazare One- Happy lunch – produced a total of 2127 competition.
Trophy CK Nayudu, Vinoo Mankad One-Dayers, The Cooch Behar Trophy, The Vijay Merchant Under-16 Tournaments and also matches under 23 for women are all in the pipe.
By doing it, BCCI shares the calendar complete with state and media associations.
The board has an outer structure of the schedule that is ready and intends to complete all these tournaments in December this year.
Association, however, has questions.
“To plan the schedule it is easy because there is a template.
The bits are difficult to attract.
BCCI hasn’t shared the details about whether the entire domestic season will be played in bio-safe bubbles.
If it’s a problem, who will set the bubble, how much it costs and will bear All costs? “Members said.
Last year, BCCI held Vijay Hazare One-Dayers without bio bubbles.
“Isn’t that a risky proposition? It is good that we want to do the domestic season, but salvation must be considered equally most importantly,” he added.
TOI spoke to the board about this concern was lifted.
“We will convince these members in a few weeks to come that costs for bio-bubble protocols and safety, if they appear, will be borne by the board.
Now, do we demand the bubble – let’s call when we get closer to it.
We It’s still a little more than three months, “the official said.
In the 2020-21 season, BCCI President Soureve Ganguly insisted the Ranji Cup will be played.
However, it must be canceled because of the pandemic and the fact that BCCI has not planned bio-safe bubbles in advance.
“The problem is, you can’t say IPL requires bio-bubbles – because it’s luxurious – while other domestic tournaments don’t.
And in such a scenario, considering you want to do more than 2000 matches, BCCI must better start planning this in advance,” said Those who trace developments.
