Chennai: Nearly 10% of taxis and Maxi taxis for tourists in the state of the pre-covid time are plying despite the resurrection in domestic tourism.
Stakeholders in the tourism sector connects poor requests for tourist taxis to travelers who prefer their own vehicles and application-based aggregators and organized tour reductions.
Until 2019, at least 40,000 taxi cars and taxi Maxi are accustomed to ferry tourists across tourist attractions in Tamil Nadu, about 50% of these vehicles running in Chennai and their environment.
Now, traction for tourist vehicles comes from hotels and weddings.
The Indian bus operator and confederation car operator said the taxi request and Maxi taxi would increase only after international tourists entered.
“Tourists who fly to Chennai for domestic tourism most prefer the application-based taxi aggregator to travel,” he said.
V K Balan, President of the Travel and Hospitality Association of Tamil Nadu Nadu, seeks assistance from the state government and the trade union government.
“The extension for another year must be given to pay the emis loan because they struggle for the adverse effects of Covid-19,” he said.
