‘Don’t disturb normal life during bandh’: HC directs the Congress not to take coercion steps

Cuttack / Bhubaneswar: The Orissa High Court on Thursday directed the Congress not to disturb the normal life with coercive actions during the country around six hours on Friday to suppress the resignation of Shankar Mishra for the murder of Mamita Meher.
Naresh Mishra, a trader based in Cuttack, has transferred the High Court to the Bandh Congress from 6am to 12 noon.
Allowing Congress to regulate the ‘peaceful protest’, two judges from the Head of Justice S Muralidhar and Justice A K Mohapatra ordered the party not to use the road blockade, disrupting vehicle and train movements or closing all forms.
Quoting the command of the Supreme Court, the bench said that bandh affected the basic rights of citizens, besides causing losses in many ways.
“In particular, there will be no effort to be forcibly close or prevent legitimate activities or stores or establishments or prevent plying buses, trains, and all forms of public or private transportation movements, covering all cargo and blocking train services,” the bench was ordered .
The Congress of the work of President Chiranjiv Bal Bal, who almost attended the trial, convinced the court that his party would ensure peaceful protests on Friday.
“We respect high court orders and will comply with letters and spirits.
We will not use forced bandh or impose shutdown in public.
Important services will not be affected,” said Niranjan Congress President Patnaik said.
Niranjan appealed to people to support bandh.
“The crime against women in Odisha is increasing.
The strong Nexus pushes this graph – corrupt politicians drunk.
I begged Odisha people to make bandh successful and respect our mother and sister,” Niranjan tweeted.
BJD, meanwhile, appealed to Congress to cancel the bandh.
“We are all sad at Mamita Meher’s incident.
His family has asked everyone to not politicize this case.
They are satisfied with the police investigation.
Still Congress seems to join hands with Odisha BJP to do dirty politics.
If the Congress has evidence in this matter, they can Go to court and seek justice.
But asking for bandh to be very cruel, “said BJD leader Sasmit Patra.
“Because of his weak financial position, the Odisha Congress seems to have taken financial assistance from Odisha BJP.
We urge Congress to attract bandh.
Odisha people do not want bandh.
They want to go to work and make their income,” said Patra.
