‘Don’t get waste to the stormwater water channel’

Chennai: Greater Chennai Corporation Commissioner Gagandeep Singh Bedi on Monday issued a warning to residents of the apartment complex and individual houses that let go of waste to storm waterways.
The need to keep the free sewers from waste is very important because northeast monsoon has begun.
He examined the water channel in the Bukatur and Mogappair East.
He also checked Anna Nagar area.
Residents demand that the first official provide waste connections before the sewer is built in an area for better management.
“The department must work in coordination and ensure that in areas where waste connections have not been provided, it is done at a fast speed,” said Manapakkam Resident Venugopal.
