PATIALA: The Federation of Indian Power Engineers (AICCEF) has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi who stressed that the proposed electricity amendment bill, 2021, should not be rushed to parliament during the pandemic period before the discussion and electrical sector employees.
Spokesman Aickef V K Gupta claimed the UNI Ministry of Power circulating the draft bill on February 5 only for the Secretary of the State of Energy for comments that will be sent within two weeks.
“This procedure is anomalous and disability because important stakeholders consisting of electrical sector engineers and employees, electricity consumers have been excluded,” he said.
Furthermore, even before the two-week completion time, video conferencing was proposed to be held on February 17 to give a view.
Virtual discussions are also held with regulators.
“The whole exercise to rush through the bill was thus not transparent, undemocratic, and discriminatory,” he thought.
