MySuru: One of the main attractions of the Dasara celebration in the city is lighting.
However, every year, environmental lovers especially bird lovers have opposed the illumination around the tree and hammering nails for this purpose.
Now they have decided to use a circular issued by BBMP forest cells that prohibit nails from trees and use trees to illuminate.
Recently the Somashekar District Minister said this year 100 km long lighting decoration would be made in the city as part of Dasara.
According to orders issued by BBMP trees on September 14, hammer nails, stems, etc.
On the tree is a violation.
Now activists from Mysuru want similar order in the city to protect the tree.
They feel they must begin by protecting trees from lighting during the Dasara.
Treasurer MySore Foundation Treasurer Venkatesh Kharidi said, “Plants and trees around the city are decorated by attractive names of tourists.
It affects the trees and birds living in these trees.
This lighting continues for almost a month.
We want the authorities to remove trees from Decoration, “he said.
“Even though the government has proposed a simple Dasara this year, there is a planned information.
We want the authorities concerned and not a nail hammer into the screen,” he said.
Deputy Commissioner Bagadi Gautham said, “The idea is to do a good lighting at this time, we have a simple Dasara.
Regarding hammering nails, I will submit a request with CESC, Mysore.” When contacted, Deputy Deputy Dasara Illumination Sub-Committee and Cesc Managing Director, Jayavibhavaswamy said they would follow any instructions given by the deputy commissioner.
“The district government will take the final decision and until now, lighting will be carried out in a way carried out in 2019,” he added.
