Nagpur: House-to-home survey is a successful size to detect Covid-19 cases during the first and second waves.
The government uses a similar strategy to detect patients with tuberculosis now.
TB search campaign will be implemented from November 15 to 25 in Nagpur Regency.
In this campaign, the Ministry of Health team will visit houses in areas marked by Nagpur Regency and collect samples of residents who have TB symptoms for a long time.
Thus, their X-ray and CB-NAT testing will also be done.
“Team members will conduct surveys from all family members.
Those who suffer from coughing more than 2 weeks, fever, experiencing a sudden weight loss etc.
will be tested for TB,” said the TB District officer Dr.
Mamta Sonsare.
In terms of diagnosis, free medical care will be provided by local health institutions.
All households in rural areas and selected areas in urban areas will be surveyed.
The survey team will have two members.
This will include Asha Swayamsevak in the countryside and Arogya Sevak in the city area.
The national strategic plan for 2017-2025 TB elimination aims to remove TB in the next 4 years.
“Detect – Treat – Prevent – Build” (DTPB) is a formula where the State Health Department works.
Hospitals, diagnostic laboratories and medical stores have been directed to keep TB patient records and upload them to the digital platform to ensure TB documentation.
“Until now, only medical practitioners, hospitals, and laboratories that inform TB patients to the government’s health system.
Now, all chemists will also inform about TB patients for whom they remove TB drugs,” said Dr.
Sonsare.
TB patients are also encouraged to tell themselves.
“We plan to reach every TB patient so that incentives and support for patients, families and communities can be extended properly,” added Dr.
Sonsare.
