Such athletes and coaches must have completed their ban period.
This step will benefit people like former athletes and now including Amit Panghal (Boxing), Seema Antil (Discus Throw), Renjith Maheshway (Triple Jump) and Bahadur Singh (shot), among others.
However, people like pamhal and anxious will not be considered for this year’s award if their names have not been recommended by each of their federations and entrepreneurs to the award selection committee or athlete not yet nominated.
But the move opens the feasibility door for athletes with doping backgrounds to re-apply from the next edition and so on.
With the sports ministry it allows for self-application facilities for athletes and coaches because of the difficulties faced by them in getting recommendations from authority / person prescribed because of the Covid-19 pandemic, it will help Sportsperson directly send in their nomination to the future committee without must depend on the federation to forward their names.
