Berlin: Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund confirmed Thursday that they had reached an agreement to transfer British winger Jadon Sancho to Manchester United at a cost of 85 million euros ($ 100 million).
In a statement, Dortmund said it had reached an agreement for the English club to pay “fixed transfer fees of 85 million euros” for 21-year-old children.
“Contractual details must now be coordinated and resolved,” Dortmund said in their statement.
“Moreover, formal transfer processing is still subject to the successful settlement of all medical tests needed and tests.” Dortmund does not provide details about the length of the contract, but the report said it will last five years.
Sancho will be the second most expensive English footballer when he joined United, who signed Harry Mague two years ago from Leicester for £ 80 million.
United have been interested in bringing Sancho to Old Trafford since last year.
After failing to meet the price of £ 100 million Dortmund last year, the Premier League club has negotiated the protracts since the end of the season in an effort to tie the transfer.
The initial offer of £ 67 million United was rejected but they increased enough offers to convince Dortmund for sale, although at lower prices than they wanted 12 months ago because of the fall of the Koronavirus pandemic.
Sancho’s transfer is one of the most expensive in the Bundesliga history.
The 100 million euro mark has been destroyed by the transfer of 2017 FRENDOD OUSMANE Dembele from Dortmund to Barcelona for 105 million euros.
The attacking midfielder Kai Havertz was transferred last summer for 80 million euros from Bayer Leverkusen to Chelsea.
Sancho’s contract with Dortmund was caused by Run to June 30, 2023.
