Hyderabad: In a fresh urge to vaccinate all against Covid, the State Health Department has now recommended that only those who have received their first doses are permitted to enter public places such as parks, malls, theaters, pubs and government offices in Hyderabad.
If approved by the government, this rule is likely to apply by the end of this month, according to the source of the Ministry of Health.
“This proposal will first be implemented in Hyderabad because 90% of the city’s population has received their first dose,” an official said.
Telangana has been given 1.1 doses of crore by the center for September and October.
Apart from Hyderabad and neighboring districts, in most of the district of the first dose have not even touched 80%.
The health department is now trying to ensure that at least 80% of the population in each district receives their first vaccination before Dasara.
“Many people are hesitant to take vaccines in the district.
Therefore, the rules are being proposed to be implemented only in Hyderabad for now.
After the rules are in the city, other people will come to take Jab,” said an official.
With schools opened in the state since September 1, Secretary Chief Somesh Kumar has directed staff to go out to speed up drive vaccination.
Previously, GHMC launched a house-to-home contact effort in the last week of August around 4,856 colonies.
In the Hyderabad district, 28.9 lakh has received their first dose of 39.9 lakh.
In the GHMC Hyderabad area, Rangeddy and Medchal, a total of 24.2 lakh had received a dose, while while 64.5 lakh had not taken a second shot.
