Ahmedabad: Ambaji Temple has seen a large surge in the past two months with a weekly donation multiply compared to pre-covid time.
From around Rs 30 Lakh the weekly donations in the pre-covid period touched the RS 60 Lakh in the first week of September, said Savjibhai Prajapati, Account officer Shri Arasuri Ambaji Mata Devasthan Trust (SAAMDT).
The reason for this is that Lakh pilgrims have traveled walking to the famous temple.
Every year this ritual took place during Bhadarvi Poonam when Mela Fortnight-long was held in Ambaji.
This year the government has limited a weld holding as a preventive measure for Covid-19.
The period of the celebration of Bhadaravi Poonam began on September 15 but pilgrims have begun to arrive in large quantities since the beginning of September, as a result the donation has been penetrated in the first two weeks of this month, said Prajapati.
The average footsteps also increased from 25,000-30,000 in the first half of September 2019 to 40,000 to 45,000 footsteps.
“On September 5, which is Sunday, around 60,000 worshipers visit the temple in a day,” he said further.
In 2019, around 23 lakh people had visited Shakti Peeth on Bhadarvi Poonam and contributions to Rs 4.5 Crore’s songs were accepted in this period.
Contributions have dropped last year due to restrictions related to Covid-19.
The dried contribution during the Covid-19 crisis reached the pre-covid level in four famous temples including Somnath Temple in Dwarka Dwarka City, Dwarkadhish Temple in Bansora and Ranchhodrai Temple in Dakor.
