Nagpur: Even after announcing that a double vaccination certificate must enter the government office, including the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) place and traveling by Aapli’s bus, NMC failed to implement orders on the first day.
Commissioner of the city of Radhakrishnan B on Monday night issued a notification under a chain break, making two mandatory vaccine doses for employees working in various companies and all citizens visit government offices.
In addition, double vaccination is also made mandatory for residents over 18 years traveling by bus AAPLI, Autorickshaws or other public transportation modes.
The Supplementary City Commissioner Ram Joshi told Ti that many visitors who had not taken two vaccine shots were rejected into the office and NMC building.
He said that the new dictated motif was to ensure all vaxxed residents.
TOI on Tuesday visited many places, including markets, bus stops and even some government offices.
However, in most places, including government offices, people are not aware of new rules.
Even the NMC transportation department is not aware of this new rule.
“Because we haven’t received any communication, the department cannot remind one of the Aapli bus operators,” said a senior official from the department.
However, the NMC interference detection squad (NDS) led by the Viresen Tambe Commander was on the toes since morning.
Tambe said he had received a notification on Monday itself and then warned all the Zonal NDS teams.
During a visit to the cotton market area in the morning, TOI saw a civilian police from the Dhantoli zone made a surprise visit to the shops around it.
In most places, the NDS team found the shop owner not displaying a double Vaxxed certificate.
Similar inspections were also made in other commercial areas including Sitabuldi, Jaripatka, Aware, Kalamna, Dharampeth and Sakkardara, said Tambe.
