Salem: District collector, Karmegam on Sunday ordered the shop owner to close their outlets at 6pm from Monday to August 23, because the state government had extended the kuncian with several restrictions for two more weeks in the case of a surge in Covid-19 cases.
The fish market is permitted to function only in open spaces and local bodies requested to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures by the store.
In the press record, Karmegam asked the shopping center, commercial complex, shops and grocery stores, supermarkets in the city boundary to lower the window leaves at 6pm.
The rules also apply to shops in Shevapet, Paul Market, Leigh Bazaar, Veerapandiyar Nagar, Voc Market, Chinna Kuda Veedi and in Navalar Nedunchezhiyan Road and Longley Road.
Shops are not allowed to use air conditioning facilities.
Meanwhile with satisfied water in Kyanapuram and Veeraganur and parks in the Mettur Dam place, meanwhile, remain closed during the period.
With relaxing, tourists will not be allowed for Yercaud, a hill station in the district.
, on Saturdays and Sundays.
“People who have been fully vaccinated against Covid will be allowed to visit Yercaud on weekdays.
The visitors must produce a photocopy of the vaccination certificate before the police,” said the collector.
Shop has been asked to continue to have cleaners at the entrance and customer thermal screen.
“The shop owner must see it, their staff members always wear face masks correctly, while do not allow customers to swarm outlets.
Strict action will begin with the shop owner if they violate the precautions,” the collector said.
