Coimbatore: The eroded All-Woman police arrested a 36-year-old doctor on charges of demanding a dowry from his wife, who was also a doctor.
The person arrested, was identified as an Anoop of Edaiyankode near Vilavankode in Kanyakumari District, working as a doctor in the same district.
He married Dr.
Divya Sarona, 35, from KK Nagar in Erode in 2010.
He worked at a government hospital.
Police sources said that 117 sovereign gold jewelry and RS 32 lakh cash was given to Anoop as a dowry during their marriage.
The couple has children.
Recently, Anoop demanded Rs 10 lakh more than Divya, after the couple was separated.
Recently, Anoop took his cash and golden jewelry and refused to return it.
Based on the case submitted by Divya in court, the police arrested Anoop on Thursday.
