Dubai: Saudi Authority has carried out their biggest crackdown in Camel beauty contestants who receive botox injections and other artificial touch-ups, the Saudi press agent managed by the government reported Wednesday, with more than 40 camels disqualified from the annual contest.
The Festival of King Abdulaziz Camel Saudi Arabia, which began earlier this month, invited the most beautiful camel farmers to compete with a $ 66 million prize money.
Botox injections, facial lifts and other cosmetic changes to make camels more attractive forbidden.
The jury decides the winner based on the form of a camel, neck, hump, clothing and posture.
The judges at the festival throughout the month in the northeastern desert of the Saudi capital, Riyadh, increased their artificially enhanced camels, the official news agency reported, using “special and sophisticated technology” to detect destruction.
This year, the authorities found dozens of breeders to spread the lips and nose camels, using hormones to increase the muscles of wild animals, inject camel heads and lips with Botox to make it bigger, bent the body parts with rubber bands and filler of their faces .
“The club wants to stop all acts of destruction and fraud in camel beauty,” said spa report, adding committee will “impose strict punishment in the manipulator”.
The camel beauty contest is the heart of a large carnival, which is also equipped with a camel race, sales and other celebrations usually featuring thousands of dromedari.
Extravaganza strives to preserve the role of camels in royal traditions and heritage, even when oil-rich countries hijack forward with the modernization of the Mega Project of the multimillion-dollar industry and similar events occur throughout the region.
