DPIIT Secretary Guruprasad Mohapatra Expires of Covid-related complications

NEW DELHI: Secretary at the Department of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) Guruprasad Mohapatra Expired of Covid-19 Connected Issues on Saturday.

“Extremely saddened to hear about the loss of Dr Guruprasad Mohapatra, Secretary DPIIT.
His longstanding support and devotion to the Country have left an enduring effects.
I communicate my deepest sympathies to his loved ones members and friends,” trade and industry ministry Piyush Goyal mentioned in an tweet.
Mohapatra has been admitted to AIIMS at mid-April.
Before taking over as DPIIT secretary at August 2019, Mohapatra functioned as chairman of the Airports Authority of India (AAI).
He had been also a Gujarat cadre 1986 batch IAS officer.
He had previously served as joint secretary at the Department of Commerce.
At the country level, he held the portfolio of Municipal Commissioner at Surat, Gujarat.
