Drashed waste collector, 4 booked

Written by news2in

Gurgaon: Four men have been ordered for allegedly attacking two ecogreen waste collectors, concession holders involved by the Corporation Municipal Gurgaon (MCG) for the management of city waste, in Shivaji Nagar.
Police said residents had disposed of mixed waste in the area.
The waste collector refused to choose a mixture of waste according to the MCG order and asked local residents to separate it, which led to the argument, said the police.
MCG launched a collection of only separate waste from November 11, announcing that garbage will not be collected from households if it is not separated on the source to be dry, wet and dangerous waste.
The defendant has been identified as Monu, Ankit, Sanjay and Neeraj.
The fourth is a resident of Shivaji Nagar.
Anil Kumar (30), who drove a garbage collector, along with Helper Shadat Khan (28), went to collect garbage in Shivaji Nagar on Sunday.
Kumar collected garbage when he watched some residents not separate their waste.
“I refused to collect trash unless they separated it.
One of the residents became angry and called out some of his friends.
They tried to force me to choose the mixture, but I told them that we had an order to collect only separate garbage and we would gather waste only after They separated it, “Kumar said, adding this made them more angry and they began to struggle him.
Khan came to Kumar’s help and began making a video on his cellphone as proof, but the men grabbed his phone and attacked him too.
“They threatened to kill us and told us not to visit this area again.
They also took our belongings,” Kumar told the police.
Based on Kumar complaints, FIR is listed below section 323 (causing injury), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 34 (general intentions) of the Indian Criminal Code (IPC) at the Shivaji Nagar Police Station on Monday.
Shivaji Nagar Station House Officer (Sho) Inspector Praveen Kumar said, “The collectors were attacked by waste separation.
The case has been registered against four people involved in the incident.
They are currently in process.”
