New Delhi: The former captain Rahul Dravid on Wednesday was appointed as head coach of the Indian men’s cricket team by BCCI.
“The Cricket Advisory Committee consisting of Sulakshana rose and RP Singh in a round voice appointed Rahul Dravid as head coach of the Indian men’s senior cricket team,” BCCI said in the media release.
Dravid, who worked as the Chief of the National Cricket Academy, has been appointed for a period of two years to 2023 World Cups in India.
The Times of India has reported the first that Dravid has agreed to take the role of the Indian head coach after a conversation with Sourav Ganguly and Jay Shah in the UAE.
Dravid has been officially applied to posts also recently, but it is seen as a mere formality.
