NEW DELHI: Rahul Dravid advised Prithvi Shaw to follow his normal manner of batting, that can be competitive, rather than replicate the former India captain’s fashion which comprised restraint. “It was outstanding. We’d toured for approximately two years (prior to the 2018 under-19 World Cup) using Rahul sir. He understood he was different from us but that he never pressured us to become like him. Temperament is very important however that he asked me to alter anythinghe used to let me play my normal game since he understood that when I play with the powerplay overs, it will become hard to discount me,” Shaw stated on Cricbuzz. Dravid was also head coach in the India club that acquired the under-19 World Cup in 2018 with Shaw as captain. The right-wing opener stated that although Dravid conducted a tight ship and also insisted in discipline, he was friendly. “If there was Rahul sir, you needed to be more disciplined. There was a tiny dread of him too but off the field he had been quite friendly with us,” explained Shaw. “He was able to come together dinners and sitting with a different legend and getting dinner with him was a fantasy come true. Every kid would like to have supper with a legend that has played with 15-16 decades of worldwide cricket. This was a great experience speaking to him,” inserted that the Mumbai opener. Dravid knew precisely what to buy from every participant, stated Shaw. “I am certain that he went through that stage, the under-19s and Ranji Trophy.
