Ahmedabad: A retired employee of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) on Tuesday filed a complaint of fraud against an unknown person, who took Rs 39.60 lakh from him after promising to bring him a gas station dealer.
Thakor Patel, 58, a sanapur sane, in a cybercrime police said that his son Bhargav Patel googled for the IOC gas station dealer and found a website, which they later found fake.
Not realizing that the website was fake, Bhargav filled the details to submit an IOC dealer on 4.
January on January 18, he got a call from someone who promised a massive return if he invested Rs 15 Lakh in business.
On the same day, the man looked for Rs 10,000 as a ‘registration fee’ for the dealer.
When Bhargav pays money, men through calls and emails continue to ask for a variety of different money as different costs.
Between January 27 and February 3, 2021, Thakor was used to give money to his son to pay for the man and they finally paid him Rs 39.60 lakh.
