Gurgaon: Anticipating that the number of hospitalization to rise in the coming days, the Ministry of Health plans to conduct training on Sundays in all government hospitals.
This exercise aims to identify constraints and gaps in managing Covid-19 patients in all government hospitals in the state.
Drill will take place for at least 24 hours and check the readiness for the availability of beds, oxygen, staff, drugs and other consumables.
This drill aims to simulate the real time situation of the high current of Covid patients in the coming days.
At present, Haryana has around 2,068 patients in hospitals in all states for Covid treatment and from 165 are in Gurgaon.
“Yes, we are preparing to carry out exercises on Sunday so that the normal function of the working day is not disturbed.
Drill will be in a civil hospital in the 10-10 sector,” said Dr.
Virender Yadav, Chief Medical Officer, Gurgaon.
As per the plan, all pressure swing absorption plants (PSA) will be run for 24 hours during training to supply oxygen.
This drill will also check switching patients from O2 supply to oxygen concentrator oxygen and shift patients from one hospital to another hospital if all actions failed to be related to oxygen.
It is important to note that Gurgaon needs around 60 tons of oxygen every day during the second covid wave.
At the peak of the pandemic in May, all the main hospitals in the city depend on Gujarat and Rajasthan for liquid oxygen, which are supplied in tankers and even trains.
The function of the ventilator will be monitored and the pulse oxymeters will be checked.
Oxygen concentrator, oxygen mask, nebuliser, oxygen cylinder D and type B and ambulance conditions will be correctly evaluated.
Drugs at the central drug store or the number of drugs will also be assessed.
Each district will examine the percentage of drugs in hospitals to total drug stock.
It will also be marked by any district health officials regarding the number of days that will survive in hospitals and warehouses based on daily consumption and analysis based on the maximum daily consumption of the second wave.
