Drive against vehicles without HSRP start today

Gurgaon: Traffic Police Gurgaon will begin a special trip from Thursday against vehicles that do not have a high security registration plate (HSRP).
While new vehicles come equipped with such plates, most of the older ones don’t have it.
“According to our estimates, there are nearly 20 lakh vehicles, both four-wheeled and two-wheeled wheels, in the city and many do not have a high security plate registration,” said an official from the Regional Transportation Office (RTO).
DCP (Traffic) Ravinder Singh Tomar said the drive would start from Thursday and Challans will be issued against a perverted driver.
“We continue to release Challans to people who do not have HSRP.
But for the next few days, we will focus on this.
We will start a zero tolerance drive,” he said, adding that HSRP is likely to reduce the amount of vehicle theft.
The traffic police department has issued a RS 500 Challans if the vehicle owner does not have HSRP.
Recently, Delhi police began to issue Challans of Rs 5,000 against vehicles without HSRP.
In 2012, the Supreme Court has asked all states and the United States to ensure a plates of high security registration installed in all vehicles on June 15 that year.
The plate this number was first launched in Delhi in April 2012.
After order from the APEX court, HSRP has become mandatory from October 2018.
