New Delhi: Venkaiiah Naidu’s vice president said on Tuesday that Covid-19 vaccination campaigns must be a people’s movement and appeal to everyone who qualified to take the required doses without fear or doubt.
Launching a free vaccination program organized by Bharat Trust Swarna in Hyderabad in collaboration with Bharat Biotech International Limited and Mediciti Hospitals, VP Naidu said there was no alternative to take a vaccine.
Calling to fight the wrong information on the vaccine, he urged representatives of the people, films and celebrities of sports to lead in removing myths and fears on Covid-19 vaccination.
Highlighting the important role of the media in creating awareness and encouraging the appropriate behavior of Covid, the vice president said that every citizen, who qualified for vaccination, must consider it a duty to take the required vaccine dose.
Mention that more than 71 doses of Crore were given in the country until September 6, he expressed his happiness that more than 50 percent of people were eligible for vaccinated with at least one dose.
Making it as a collective and extraordinary effort of the center and countries in the Spirit of the Indian team, the vice president emphasizes that vaccination mission must not lose momentum until every citizen is vaccinated.
Vice-President observed that when even developed countries struggled to overcome pandemics, India did not only succeed in producing the original vaccine, but also carried out the largest free vaccination program in the world.
“Furthermore, in the spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, India has exported vaccines around the world,” he added.
Naidu also emphasizes the importance of behavior that is in accordance with Covid even after vaccination to fight a pandemic effectively.
He stressed that people must take personal responsibility in compliance with personal hygiene, in wearing masks and in keeping a safe distance.
Naidu VP suggested to adopt healthy lifestyles, such as practicing yoga, maintaining physical fitness and eating healthy food to ward off health problems.
He praised the organizers of the vaccination program for free – Swarna Bharat Trust, Bharat Biotech, Muppavarapu Foundation, Mediciti Hospitals (Hyderabad), SIMHAPURI VAIDYA SEVA SAMITI (NELLORE), Pinnamaneni Siddhartha Hospitals (Vijayawada) for their initiatives and efforts.
The free vaccination program was launched simultaneously in three centers – in Hyderabad, Vijayawada and Nellore.
