Thiruvananthapuram: Drive collection specifically for non-biodegradable waste will continue in the city after a few months of a gap.
The company will set the collection drive from January 15.
Collection points will be arranged in all environments and drives will be held from 8am to 12:30 a.m.
Clothing, bags and sandals will be collected on January 15.
Glass waste will be collected on January 22 and CFL lights and tubes will be collected on January 29.
This will be the first collection of drives to be held by City Corporation after the two institutions were chosen for zone-based collections.
Corporation City Council in September 2021 approved a healthy health committee proposal to involve two institutions for dried waste collection.
According to the proposal, the corporation will make money from transportation 14 types of dried waste while he must pay for multi-layer cover, bag, chappal, clothing and waste road.
Pet and hard plastic bottles, two main components of non-biodegradable waste in the city, will take the corporation of Rs 15 and Rs 13 per kilo each.
Color plastic, rubber and coconut shell are other items where the corporation will receive money from the company for transportation.
The most common plastic waste milk cover will get the RS 13 per kg corporation when carrying a bag will be transported at Rs 7 per kg.
Includes oil, white plastic cover and paper waste is another type of dry waste that will now make money for collection and transportation.
The corporation must spend money on the collection and transportation of clothing, bags, and chappals with prices ranging from Rs 5 – Rs 8 per kg.
Road waste will be transported at a cost of 7.5 per kg.
