Chandrapur: Gadchiroli district is ready to launch the ‘Har Ghar Dastak’ drive from December 20 to achieve 100% Covid Vaccination target.
The focus will be seven talaskas left behind in the scope of the first dose, the Sanjay Meena collector said.
Although the district has reached 78.91% of the first dose target, around 1.76 lakh which meets the requirements of people have not taken their first jab.
Drive ‘Har Ghar Dastak’, starting from Monday, will focus on vaccination of 1.25 lakh people in the first week.
Meena said because many villages and hamlets in this district are located in remote areas, it is impossible for the general public to reach the immunization center.
Therefore, the Ministry of Health will reach villages and hamlets under the immunization campaign.
A total of 508 health worker teams have been formed for encouragement.
Each team will be allocated a set of villages every day to create awareness about vaccination and also managing Jab for qualified citizens.
Previously, the Department had vaccinated home to accommodate and also in the field of agriculture experiments.
With a threat that looming from the omicron variant and the third wave, Meena has decided to speed up vaccination through the ‘Har Ghar Dastak’ campaign.
In the first phase, drive home vaccination to the house will be implemented in Seven Talukas – Sironcha, Bhamragarh, Etapalli, Aherma, Mulchera, Chamorshi and Dhanora – which are left behind in vaccination.
The 1.25 lakh vaccination target of people with the first dose of vaccines in 830 villages has been set for the first week (20 to 27 December).
