Thane: Mumbai motorists who travel to Thane and Nashik tend to face Snarls along the East Express Highway thanks to the transfer of heavy transport vehicles after the Thane of Mumbra bypass tied path is closed after the main structural damage.
Some of the road plaster on the Thine-bound line of the arterial bypass surrendered on Thursday revealing reinforcements on the stretch of flyover to Kharega landing after the Public Works Department took a temporary repair block and closed it for heavy vehicles.
Rights, heavy vehicles were diverted from Shilphata to Thane through Mahape -Airoli and Kalyan Durgadi added tension on this jammed path.
“There was an increase in traffic on East Express Highway from the point of Anand Nagar because of the transfer of heavy vehicles from the Mumbra bypass.
The situation is likely to continue for the next few days until PWD completes repairs.
We have used additional staff to streamline the flow,” Balasaheb Patil, representative Police Commissioner, Traffic Thane.
Meanwhile, Minister of MLA and the cabinet Jitendra Awhad instructed senior PWD officials in Thane on Friday to submit a corrective action report bound time.
“We have surveyed quantum compensation and now take repair work.
Schedule detailed repair from all road networks tends to be mapped immediately,” Inform a PWD official asking for anonymity.
Activists meant that the damage was often reported on the arterial road on the route Pune Mumbai, built almost two decades back, along the hillside of Parsik as an alternative on the suburbs of Mumbra.
