Pune: With a hole, the speed breaker is not marked and uneven stretching, the driver has a hard time navigating the Baner-Pasas link.
With a crowded carriageway, vehicles parked illegally along the road add to the driver problem.
Rahul Jain, a resident of a residential Society on Baner-Pashan Link Road, said the road was excavated a few months to put the pipe.
“After finishing the job, the road was never restored correctly.
Only the patchwork was done and there were many places where they hadn’t even done,” Jain said.
Residents say that all roads need to be put back to ensure no uneven patches while the fine must be charged for illegal parking.
Some people also demand the width of the road from 9m to 18m considering the solid traffic on stretches.
Jain said the road was in a terrible condition during heavy rains and two wheels could easily slip because the patch was uneven.
“Regular travelers know where break breakers but others might find it difficult to navigate because there is no speed lump that has a sign,” Jain said.
Rajendra Chutar, the President of the Association of residents of Pasas Pasas Pashan Link, said there had been a response despite repeated complaints to PMC.
“There are cases of two-wheeled riders who slipped and fell because of poor embroidery patches,” Chutar said.
He further said that the path along the road was damaged while many street lights did not work, making it dangerous for pedestrians.
“There is a damaged drainage cover too.
About 25 people are along the road, which connects two main areas – Baner to Jalan Pashhan-sus – which means there is always a solid traffic,” Chutar said.
Sandip Khalate, Assistant Commission of Baner Office Baner Bangsal Aundh, said that road work was under the jurisdiction of PMC headquarters.
