New Delhi: India on Thursday (August 26) told the newly liberalized drone rules, freeing aircraft systems (UAS) from a large number of strict regulations.

Based on feedback, the government has decided to revoke the UAS rules, 2021 and replacing the same as the rules of the liberalized drone, 2021.
“The liberalized regime has eliminated several approval including unique authorization numbers, unique prototype identification numbers, maintenance certificates, operator permits, student-distance pilot licenses and port authorization drones.
The number of forms has been reduced from 25 to 5.
The maximum penalty for violations is reduced to Rs 1 Lakh.
“Quantum costs (already) are reduced to nominal levels and hidden with drone size.
For example, the cost for the remote pilot license fee has been reduced from RS 3,000 (for large drones) to RS 100 for all drone categories; and valid for 10 years.
Platform Sky Digital will be developed as a user-friendly window system.
There will be a minimal human interface and most of the permissions will be generated themselves, “the airline ministry said in a statement.
“No long-range pilot license is needed for micro drones (for non-commercial use) and nano drones.
There are no requirements for security permissions before issuing any registration or license,” he added.
“Drones are present in India before November 30, 2021 will issue a unique identification number through the SKY Digital Platform (depending on conditions).
