Bhubaneswar: Worried by a violation of covid restrictions and curvacts by several people on the occasion of Rath Yatra on July 12, Polo District Puri has decided to use drones to oversee the violators during the Yatra Yatra on Tuesday.
The police have also formed a special work enforcement team to punish violators at night.
The worshipers have been banned in taking part in the Nine Day Rath Yatra Festival considering the covid pandemic.
“We have formed 10 law enforcement teams consisting of inspector’s ranking officers, a videographer and executive judge to ensure the enforcement of hours at the Grand Road and the roof of the building.
The drone will fly on the Grand Road to detect the country’s church on the roof,” said Puri SP, Kanwar Vishal Singh.
Three shared randomized examination teams, consisting of police officers, executive judges, police personnel and Videographers of Jagannath Temple have been based on identifying unauthorized people near the train and taking fast action against them.
Only a limited number of servants, police, temples and district officials had been authorized to live near the train.
“Audit hours will be carried out regularly by the joint team of police, cities and administrative districts.
Fast legal action will be confirmed to violators,” Singh said.
A total of four criminal cases have so far been registered from the owner of four hotels and 25 people for breaking the curfew and gathering on the roof to watch Rath Yatra on July 12.
Violators have been ordered under 269 (negligent actions tend to spread infection of dangerous diseases for life), 270 (malignant actions likely to spread infection of dangerous diseases for life), 188 (disobedience of government orders) and 34 (acting made by several people with general intentions) IPC and 3 actions of epidemic diseases and other relevant legal provisions.
“We have issued a notice to 25 people to explain their unauthorized presence in the Grand Road and in areas prohibited on the day of Rath Yatra.
Criminal proceedings under the relevant legal section will begin if they cannot justify their presence at the Grand Road .
Police keep watches close on Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp to check if anyone posts photos or videos of their presence during the budding Yatra, “said Singh.
