Palanpur: Two girls died and others of the family fell sick supposedly after ingesting mustard oi at Gundri village of Banaskantha’s Dantiwada taluka.
They all are supposed to have suffered from epidemic dropsy, a medical illness caused due to ingestion of oil.
In accordance with outbreak medical officer N K Garg, a 22-year-old girl died on Tuesday while a 19-year-old appeared on Thursday.
Their blood samples are sent to National Institute of Occupational Health (NIOH) at Ahmedabad for additional investigation.
A group of paramedical personnel headed by a health officer was implanted in the village to rigorously observe the chance of further spread of illness.
The affected folks have been treated.
