Bengaluru: At least 3 Lakh tablets, 10,000 masks and 2,000 sanitisers adorned Sri Sathya Temple Ganapati Shiradi at JP Nagar, Bengaluru, on the occasion of the Purnima Teacher (Saturday).
The decoration is done to create awareness among worshipers about the third wave of Covid-19 and precautions they must take.
Tablets include Dolo 650, Paracetamol, vitamin Ceeeplus, COFSIL and Medomol, and masks for children and adults are added for a good size.
The temple authority said they spent around RS 30 lakh to buy these important ingredients to overcome this disease.
Program manager and Temple Trustee Ram Mohan Raj said that for the last six purnimacas teachers, the material used for the decor of the temple was distributed to the poor.
“Last year, we used coconut and in 2019, we had fruits.
In front of the third wave of pandemics that might be, we bought drugs and other materials to be distributed as usual.
It will also create awareness among the public, “He added.
“We will prepare a health kit for the next four days and send it to people”, he said.
Bangalore South MP Tejasvi Surya (BJP) says instead of spending lakh rupees on decorations that are in vain, using items that can be used later are wise.
