Tighty: A police officer in charge was arrested and placed under the suspension after his video was drunk, holding a bottle of beer and threatening the community circulated on social media.
The defendant, Rajaguru from Subramaniyapuram, was close to Puliyangudi in Tenkasi District, attached to the Kadayanallur police station.
On Monday, he was in charge of security arrangements in the village of Thirumalapuram near Synthamaram.
Then, he consumed alcohol on the way out Tasmac on Jalan Synthamaram – Sankarankovil.
With a beer bottle in hand, he threatened the locals and tried to hit them.
Some of them recorded incidents on their cellphones and circulated them on the social media platform.
A complaint was put forward against Rajaguru with the Synthamaram police because it caused the inconvenience to the public.
The police were ordered under the parts of the Indian criminal code, arrested and lodged in Tenkasi Sub-prison.
He is also placed under suspension.
Police Supervisors (SP) for Tenkasi Regency R Krishnaraj said that the department had taken the incident seriously and that the police would face the main disciplinary charges below the 3B rules of the rules of service and appeal and the appeal of the Tamil Nadu police discipline after an administrative investigation.
The final action will be taken by SP based on the report submitted by the investigation officer.
District police planned to arrange counseling sessions for Tipple police from January to prevent the incident.
“We have asked inspectors each of all 35 police stations and heads of different units to identify police personnel like that below them.
We will conduct counseling with the help of two experts on Saturdays and their progress will be monitored by district welfare officer officers,” Krishnaraj said.
