DU makes it mandatory for all students to plant trees from this session

New Delhi: The University of Delhi (DU) has carried out initiatives for ‘greener planets’ through new programs ‘environmental education for environmental actions’ where each student must plant at least one tree in this country.
Talking about this program was announced by DU on August 7 for the upcoming academic session, the representative of the PC Chancellor of the University of Joshi said that they launched this program under social responsibility for the environment.

Every student who receives the entrance ticket to DU must plant trees and take care of him.
Students will give us a progress report from the tree every six months through geotagging, “He said.
Joshi added that students could plant trees in their original places and him, along with all DU officials, planted trees at the University on August 15 to start this program.

Referring to the lack of oxygen in the country during the Covid-19 crisis, Du Professor and Director of the Himalayan Study Center (DCHS) Dinbandhu Sahoo said that India only had 28 trees per person compared to 422 trees per person in the world.
