New Delhi: Executive Board of Delhi University (DU) was informed on Friday that both names were resolved to name the two upcoming colleges were Veer Savarkar and Sushma Swaraj.
In the EC meeting held in August, a proposal was passed where Du Vice-Chancellor was authorized to choose a name for the two upcoming colleges from a collection of names.
Seema Das, EC member, said, “At the last meeting, it was done on the agenda and representatives of Chancellor was asked to complete the names.
In a meeting held on Friday, when we asked who was the two names resolved, we were told accordingly.
We previously proposed that universities must be named after leading education, but that did not happen.
“Other names that are also part of the list are Swami Vivekananda, Vallabhai Patel, Atal Bijari Vajpayee and Savitribai Phule, among others.
