Dubai: Expo 2020 Dubai, a major world exhibition opened last week, on Sunday said three workers on the project had died after signing Covid-19, revising the number of deaths since 2015 to six workers.
The organizers have the first time on Saturday revealing three jobs related to employment and 72 serious injuries between 200,000 workers during the construction of the location, maintaining the accident rate due to less than half of building work in the UK.
“Unfortunately we have three deaths related to workers because of Covid.
It was during a pandemic trip,” Representative Expo Sconaid McGachin told a daily briefing.
McGachin said the three deaths were previously disclosed related to construction.
He referred reporters to local authorities to comment on how many Expo workers have so far been captured by Covid-19.
The Dubai government media office did not immediately respond to requests for comments sent by email.
Large projects in the Bay area such as the exhibition, and preparation for Qatar to hold the Soccer World Cup FIFA 2022, have faced international supervision, with groups of groups who criticize the condition of low paid migrant workers.
Density in worker accommodation is one of the main factors in a surge in infection in the United Arab Emirates and other Gulf countries at the beginning of the pandemic.
Expo 2020 said the worker’s accommodation was audited to ensure the conditions were not narrow.
The UAE does not provide details for the Covid-19 case and death for every emirate, including regional trade and Dubai tourism center.
This country has launched one of the fastest vaccination campaigns in the world, with more than 80% of the population of around 10 million people inoculated.
UAE bet the six-month exhibition will attract 25 million visits.
Visitors who entered the age of 18 and over must show evidence of vaccination or a negative Covid-19 test.
There are also testing facilities on the site.
