Noida: The police have arrested two men for allegedly deceiving several people with the pretext of getting their work with private airlines, the officer said on Friday.
The defendant used to steal customer data from different job search portals and contact people who need work.
“On Thursday, our team received a tip-off on suspicious activities carried out by several people in the building in sector 6.
A team was formed and sent to the place,” Shyamjeet Singh said, said Cell Cyber said.
“Our team attended an incoming call on their telephone, where the caller, which was Himachal Pradesh residents, revealed that he had received several calls from various numbers and callers had taken Rs 7 lakh from him to get a job in a private airline,” said Singh.
Next, the team contacted another number from one of the confiscated phones and callers, who was a resident of Sant Ravidas Nagar at Uttar Pradesh, said that he had paid Rs 1.25 lakh to get a job in the same airline.
The two men were detained and during interrogation, they revealed that they had started the company and cheated by people on behalf of offering them jobs in private airlines.
The police said that a case below 420 (cheating) and 406 (punishment for violations of criminal trust) from the Criminal Code had been registered with the two men accused.
