Agra: a man and his son was set to death after they came into contact with direct wire while parking their vehicles in Rajpur Chungi Locality in Agra, police said on Saturday.
According to the police, Mohar Singh (50) and his son Bhupendra (22) parked their automatic rickshaws outside their homes when they came into contact with broken wires from road lights on Friday.
Singh’s wife and Princess hurried to save them, but were saved by the locals, Sub Inspector at the conscious police station, said Mohammad Naseer.
The duo of the father-child was taken to the hospital where they were declared dead, he said.
Meanwhile, Shailesh Desai, Vice President, Torrent Power issued a statement after the tragic incident and claimed that the incident occurred because it violated the electric wire from the street lights.
“It has nothing to do with the power of torrent.
Poland and street lights cables are maintained by city corporations,” he said.
