Kolkata: Due to evening hours easing during the festival season, the owner of a luxury restaurant in the city has searched the West Bengal government to extend closing hours with another hour from 10:30 a.m.
during the days of Durga Puja.
The restaurant owner has appealed to the Secretary of the Head of State.
“We have urged the government to extend the closing time, which is now 10:30, about an hour because many Hopper Pandal will not be on the way they do in pre-covid-19 years with the Calcutta High Court and Administration.
Strategic Pandalus as no There is an incoming zone, “Nitin Kothari, the famous owner of ‘Peter Cat’ restaurant and ‘Mocambo’ at Downtown Park Street, told PTI on Saturday.
At night at 11pm to 5 in the morning, according to the limit of Covid-19, has been withdrawn by the government considering Durga Puja which began on October 11.
He said while the restaurant had watched a good response by customers in recent months, every extension of hours will help them get a little more space and enjoy celebrations in a more relaxed way.
Kothari said the two icon restaurants have witnessed full residence regularly over the past few months.
“Even in June when the restaurant closing time limit was 8pm, people adjusted to eat hours from 7pm which was normal at 7pm to 5pm – 8pm.
When the government loosens the time from 8pm to 10: 30, it helps both visitors and and us.
If the closing time can be extended with one more hour from October 10 or 11 to 16, nothing can be better, “he said.
The owner of the restaurant chain ‘Oudh 1590’ and ‘Chowman’ Shiladitya Chowdhury told PTI, “We have asked the government if the deadline can be extended by more time.
We have not received a positive response.” However, if the time limit of 10:30 PM continues, the restaurant outlet will continue the delivery of parcel food until 2am, Chowdhury added.
President of the Association of Hotels and restaurants in East India, Sudesh Poddar said “With part of the person who is looking for an alternative to Hopping Pandal, especially at night, we anticipate a crowd in the popular meal zone.
It’s talking from experience.”
