Ranchi / Jamshedpur: Durga Puja set the committee in Ranchi on Wednesday with a round voice decided to meet the head of the Minister of Hemant Soren and urged him to eliminate the high lid on idols.
During the meeting on Tuesday, the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) said that all idols must be under 5 feet.
Ranchi District Durga Puja Committee (RDDPC), Umbrella Clothing for 165 Puja Committees here, met at Bakri Bazar at night.
At the meeting, RDDPC representatives agreed that because it was too little time, it was impossible to change with the size of the idol of Durga because most committees had placed their respective orders with idol makers.
They said that they could not wait for the SDMA guidelines before making an order because they were running out of time.
RDDPC President Ashok Choudhary said: “The representation of the Puja Committee will soon fulfill cm and urge him to reconsider direction at idol heights.” RDDPC, however, agreed to comply with the SDMA guidelines who said that the pandal would not be based on any theme and without decorative lights and gates.
“According to the SDMA guidelines, Bhog will not be distributed among worshipers this year too, but will be offered to the gods according to tradition,” RDDPC said in a statement.
In addition to banning the entry of worshipers, SDMA also prohibits exhibition organizations and food carts near the pandal to prevent density.
While RDDPC agreed to comply with the guidelines, it stepped forward and decided that they would ensure that the priests and Dhakis were vaccinated before taking part in the ritual that lasted four days.
In Jamshedpur, the Puja Committee provides a mixed reaction to the direction of SDMA.
DINESH KUMAR, Secretary General of Tuiladungri Durga Puja Samiti in Golmuri, said, “If the government can let the bar and restaurants remain open until 11pm, what is wrong with the distribution of Bhog? The government must reconsider the decision.” Residents also react sharply with sdma’s decision To prohibit the entry of anyone under 18 years in Pandal and his decision to ban the use of loudspeakers at the Pandal.
“The government’s decision to allow 25 people in a pandal at a certain time is welcome, but also must allow children underage in the pandal too,” Anjan Sarkar, North Zone member Durga Puja Samiti, told Toi.
