New Delhi: Skywalk 670M connecting the South Campus of the University of Delhi to Durgabai Durgabai Station Deshmukh near the Marg Benito Juarez, which is part of the RTR project, is likely to be delayed.
PWD officials said the main infrastructure project would require a reduction.
The construction of the overall RTR project, which includes Skywalk and Underpass, began in November 2014 to the outermost ring road among IIT and National Highway-8 to offer assistance to people traveling to and from Indira Gandhi International Airport.
A senior PWD official said the skywalk design was being replaced slightly as a prefabricated part that should be installed in the pillar expected to be built by the French company.
“Pandemic and sturdy often cancels this plan.
We will not be able to import these prefabricated parts for assembly.
We relate to the company based in Chandigarh for the manufacture of spare parts to complete the project.
There is not much progress in Skywalk,” the official added.
Underpass 1.2km-long-shaped Y is currently being built between Benito Juarez Marg and San Martin Marg to a habitable ring road and stretching Dhaula Kuan.
As part of the project, Skywalk starting from Marg Benito Juarez near the Springdales school is also being built.
All pillars for skywalk have been completed.
Just like skywalk in ito, the precast part will be installed on the pillar.
An official said the underpass was in the midst of Marg Benito Juarez, who made a single lane on both sides of a narrower road approach.
“Skywalk will improve pedestrian security, while keeping traffic without interruption,” the official added.
South and satyanypetan campus tends to benefit the most from Skywalk.
“Once the parts are ready, it will take at least six months to gather and weld it to the pillar.
Previously, a coffee shop was planned along with Skywalk, but it didn’t seem to be considering delays and increased project costs,” the official said.
PWD is currently focusing on completing excavation work under the ring road for underpasses.
The sixth time for the previous underpass was announced on August 31, which would likely be violated.
