Chennai / Salem: DVAC Sleuth began searching at 57 places belonging to former Minister of AIADMK K P Anbalagan, relatives and supporters in Chennai District, Salem and Dharmapuri on Thursday morning.
The search also conducted at the residence and another place from Aiadmk MLA A Govindasamy.
DVAC initiated a search after M Krishnameorthy submitted a request at Madras High Court looking at the agency to start an inquiry based on his request.
Krishnameorthy accused former Higher Education Minister Aiadmk Anbalagan gathered wealth in his name and that his family members, including the wife of a Mallika, son of Satimohan and Chandrasekan, Princess-In-Law Vaishnavee and others, disproportionate with their source of income.
Meanwhile, DVAC ordered an investigation and based on information gathered, a case was registered against Anbalagan, Mallika, Satimohan, Chandrasekkan and Vaishnavee.
“The accusation of Anbalagan was that he had gathered wealth worth around Rs 11 Crore on his name and family members and other people who were disproportionate with their known source of income,” said a senior DVAC official to Ti.
“After the case registered, the search was conducted in 57 places in the Chennai District, Dharmapuri and Salem on Thursday,” DVAC official said.
