Gurugram: In 2022 will open the way for two main road projects to open for traffic, the Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said on Thursday.
One of them is the Dwarka Expressway that is delayed for a long time and the other is the road that is elevated between Gurugram and Sohna.
“Dwarka 30km, 8-lane toll road, accessed access, which is being built at a cost of rs 10,000 crore, will be completed in 2022,” Minister for road transportation and highway, which is in the city to check the construction of Delhi-Mumbai Expressway near the village Lohatki, told reporters.
Dwarka Expressway, announced in 2007, imagined as the northern ring road that connects Gurugram and Delhi but still mired in litigation and land disputes for years.
While 18.1 km from the toll road is in Haryana, the remaining 9.5km is in Delhi.
After all obstacles were cleared, working on the toll road began only in full swing in 2019.
But the pandemic and construction ban was due to increasing the level of pollution during the winter slowed it.
In March this year, work was detained after a portion of the elevated part of Dwarka Expressway near the Daultabad flyover that collapsed.
Talking about the probe into collapse, Gadkari said that in such cases, “a committee was appointed and investigated”.
“Sometimes, it is a bonafid fault, later, it is Mala Fide.
If the mistake is bonafid, we need to improve them and forgive them.
But if the mistake is Mala Fide, we need to take firm action …
we have to take it.
Wise, transparent, time bound, results oriented, and fair.
If someone does something wrong, they will be punished.
And if there are technical errors, we need to repair, improve technology, and solve the problem, “Gadkari said.
Sohna lifts the road, which comes from Rajiv Chowk and is part of a larger Delhi-alwar corridor and will be connected with Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Sohna, it is likely to be opened for traffic in the first semester next year.
“The six lane road, 5km-long is being built on the Turugram-Sohna route at a cost of around Rs 1,700 Crore.
This will be completed in March 2022,” Gadkari said.
