E-bus service to Sinhagad fortress from January

Pune: The special e-bus PMPML service to the Sinhagad fortress is expected to start from the following month, opening the way to stop the movement of private vehicles to historical structures.
“Initially, we planned to start with eight e-buses, only operational on weekends.
Then, we will improve service to workdays,” PHPML officials (Pune Mahanagar Parifahan Mahamandal).
At present, there are commercial four-wheeled vehicles carrying passengers to the fort.
In addition, many private vehicles also go to the fort.
Deputy Minister’s head Ajit Pawar has announced that only e-buses will run on stretches.
“The State Forest Department has instructed to take steps, such as making a parking lot in Golewadi and trains the local youth to become a tourist guide.
Every bus goes to the fortress will have a tour guide.
After this bus starts, there are no private or commercial vehicles that will be Allowed on weekends.
However, on weekdays, other vehicles can go until the bus service becomes more often, “the official said.
Other PMPML officials say the cost of around RS100 for both ways will be charged for bus services.
“At present, commercial vehicles that charge RS120 for both ways.
PMPML is discussing with MSEB (Maharashtra state electric board) towards the filling station near the fortress’s main gate,” the official added
