Patna: With the intention of compensating the losses suffered by children because of the closing of the school in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Bihar Education Prozen (BEPC) launched a virtual class at DD Bihar on Monday.
Class I and II students can watch channels from 3.05pm to 4pm and class III students for V can do it between 4.05pm and 5pm every day.
The Director of the Bepc State Project, Sanjay Kumar Singh, told this reporter that the virtual lecture had received a telecast for class VI students to XII between 9am and 12:00.
“Of the 70 lakh students in these classes, around 20 lakh benefited from college at Bihar,” he said.
The decision to broadcast a virtual class at DD Bihar was taken considering the fact that more than 1.9 crore students learned at the government school in Bihar.
Of these, many are unable to buy smartphones for e-classes.
“Special classes on DD Bihar will continue until the school is reopened,” said Singh and added, “We have also made arrangements for e-books, study materials, and audio-visual classes on e-lots to ensure that the learning process is Not disturbed.
“Director Bepc claims that on average, 1.5 lakh students have used the e-lots application since launched a month ago.
“We hope the number of users rises because the application will be beneficial for children in the long term,” he said.
